Longshot: The Story of the Buchan Bakers
NIBL All-Star Game

After building a 16-8 first quarter lead, the West held back the East to win the National Industrial Basketball League All-Star game, 81-78. Carl Boldt of the Buchan Bakers of Seattle, Wash., was voted the games Most Valuable Player for his excellent defense on Dick Boushka of the Wichita Vickers Oilers. Boldt held Boushka, the NIBLs leading scorer, to zero points from the field Boushkas six points all came from free throws. The previous year Boushka had been named the All-Star MVP after scoring 32 points but in this game, he never got clear of the tight guarding by Boldt.
